Zenith Model 6-D-336 "Baby" Chairside Radio (1939)
I call this unusual radio from
Zenith a "baby" chairside
because it is a small radio
intended for placement besides
an armchair. It uses the same
chassis as the table model
6-D-311.
This 117V AC/DC powered
radio covers the standard
broadcast band and uses 6
tubes, including a ballast:-
6A8G (mixer/LO), 6K7G (IF),
6Q7G (2nd detector/AVC/1st
AF), 25L6G (AF power o/p),
25Z6G (rectifier) and 100-70
(ballast).
I found this sitting in one of my
favorite antique stores with a
price tag of $80 on it. I
photographed it exactly as
found.
